GRAND RAPIDS BALLET SCHOOL JUNIOR COMPANY

Grand Rapids Ballet School Junior Company provides students between the ages of 10 and 19 with greater performance opportunities. Junior Company members will enjoy the thrill of performing in their own productions and alongside the professional company dancers of Grand Rapids Ballet in The Nutcracker as well as three of its own productions: Spooktacular!, Beauty & The Beast, and Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park‘s Who Am I? A Butterfly Ballet.

Grand Rapids Ballet School Junior Company Auditions

Auditions for the Junior Company are held at the beginning of the each Semester. To audition, students must be between the ages of 10 and 19 and be enrolled full-time in Grand Rapids Ballet School.

Audition Date: Tuesday, September 4 6:15-7:15pm
Students will need to complete an audition form at the School Office prior to September 4, 2018. Forms will be available beginning August 20.

Junior Company Student/Parent Information Meeting: Friday, September 14 6:15-6:45pm
Junior Company Director Attila Mosolygo will discuss general information, policies, and the 2018-19 performance season calendar. All accepted students are required to attend this meeting. It is encouraged, but not required, that parents attend as well (minutes from the meeting will be available for parents who are unable to attend).

Attila Mosolygo

Grand Rapids Ballet School Faculty

Attila was born in Kisvarda, Hungary. He received his early training at the National Ballet Institute in Budapest. After moving to the United States, he joined the Joffrey Ballet School. He has performed as a guest artist with Mobile Ballet, Bravo Dance, Harrisburg Ballet, Ballet Theatre of Chicago and the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago. Attila spent sixteen years as a Grand Rapids Ballet company dancer and 8 years as a Ballet Master. As a company dancer, a few of his notable roles include The Prodigal Son in George Balanchine’s Prodigal Son, Max in Septime Webre’s Where The Wild Things Are, Charlie Chaplin in Gordon Peirce Schmidt’s Flickers, Tibalt in Mario Radacovsky’s Romeo and Juliet, and Melancholic in George Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments. Attila became the Artistic

Director of the Grand Rapids Ballet School’s Junior Company in 2011.  Since becoming the Artistic Director, Attila has choreographed many ballet including Snow White, Peter Pan, Beauty & the Beast, Carnival of the Animals, and Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes for the Junior Company. He and his wife Mindy have one daughter and one son, Vivian and Cameron.
